Buying or selling a business

Acquisitions (financial due diligence)

An acquisition is likely to be one of the most important business decisions you will make and you will want to be as sure as you can be that your investment is being wisely placed.

An important part of the acquisition process is the due diligence review where the target business is investigated. Camrose can review the financial aspects of the planned acquisition in order to identify and avoid potential problems.  The scope of the work is agreed at the outset and is tailored to your requirements, but will typically include:

  • consideration of the company’s recent results and current financial position
  • review of the target business’s forecasts and cash requirements

The review should help identify many of the risks and practical issues that need to be addressed once the business been bought.  Once the deal has been done Camrose can prepare or review completion accounts on your behalf if these are required in order to finalise the price.

Business sale support

Selling your business can be a very stressful experience, not only do you have to prove to your potential purchaser that you have a sound business, you must still deal with the day to day running so that there is something to sell at the end of the process.

With experience in financial due diligence and an outsider’s perspective, Camrose can help identify potential problems before the business goes on the market and pre-empt issues that are likely to arise.

Purchasers usually take a forward looking view of the business’s prospects. It is important to have up to date financial information, a good grasp of your business’s prospects and to have a strategic perspective. If your accounting function focuses on past results then we can help you develop a forward looking perspective; this not only helps avoid problems at the time of sale but is good practice from a day to day commercial perspective. As with all our services, the package will be tailored to suit your individual requirements.
